MAFP Foundation

The Maine Academy of Family Physicians Foundation is the 501(c)3 charitable (tax deductible) arm of the MAFP.  The Foundation's missionis to:

• support research activities in family medicine
• establish and administer programs of continuing education for physicians in the medical specialty of family medicine
• support activities which maintain the educational excellence of family physicians
• support activities which encourage medical students interest in development of family medicine as their intended specialty in sufficient numbers to meet the family medicine needs in the State of Maine
• support activities which enhance the educational preparation and training of prospective family physicians at the undergraduate and graduate levels

Tar Wars is a tobacco education program presented to 4th & 5th grades here in Maine and Nationally by physician members of the AAFP, school nurses, and other healthcare providers.
